Construction In Indian Country calls for award nominations
TEMPE, AZ – Construction In Indian Country (CIIC) is calling for nominations of distinguished projects, individuals and teams to be recognized and honored by industry leaders at the CIIC 2019 National Conference, Achievement Awards Banquet on November 7, 2019 at Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino Events Center.
This will be the second annual awards banquet intended to highlight outstanding Native American-owned firms, construction projects completed in Indian country, and organizations or corporations that have substantially contributed to the enhancement of Tribal communities.
The new CIIC board president, Bob Roessel said the awards nominations “raised the bar” for their national conference. “In 2018, we held the inaugural Achievement Awards banquet. We recognized projects that directly serve tribal communities,” he explained.
Nominations are being requested for this year’s awards. They can be submitted by individuals or organizations until August 30, 2019. The four award categories are: Outstanding Community Enrichment, Outstanding Construction, Outstanding Design & Planning. and the Lasting Impact Legacy Award.
Last years award winners were: Outstanding Community Enrichment – Wa-Di-Housing Project, nominated by AOS Architects; Outstanding Construction – Cloud Song Project, nominated by Architekton; Outstanding Design and Planning – Cedar Hills Project, nominated by Travois; and Lasting Impact Legacy Award – Mr. Urban Giff, former CIIC board president.
This year, Roessel hopes to see an increase of nominations due to all the great work and projects being done in Indian County, “We encourage the entire industry to submit nominations and acknowledge the extraordinary projects in Indian country.”
